TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read through our booking Terms and Conditions so that there are no misunderstandings.
These terms and conditions govern the contract between Mr & Mrs M. Mann of Clos de la Tour, Sark, Channel Islands and you, the guest.
You can make a booking through our online booking system or by emailing us at [email protected] or by using our contact form on the contact page of our website.
When making a booking, if your date of arrival is more than 6 weeks away at the time of booking, you will be asked to secure your booking with a deposit of 50% of the total booking costs. If your date of arrival is less than 6 weeks away at the time of booking, you will be asked to secure your booking by making payment of the full booking cost. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit/full booking cost has been received.
Prices are given on our tariff page of the website and are also confirmed at the time of booking, VAT is not applicable in the Channel Islands and it is not added to our prices. Our tariff prices are subject to change without notice, however, your price is guaranteed once you have received confirmation of your booking.
Availability of accommodation at discounted rates may be offered from time to time on the ‘Special Offers’ page of our website or when making a booking direct through our website. Special Offers are subject to availability and may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods. We may ask you to make payment in full at the time of booking for some of our discounted prices. If you rent more than one of our properties for the same period of time we may offer you a discount, please contact us direct for further details. We regret that we cannot change the rate or terms of your stay once a booking has been confirmed.
CARE OF THE PROPERTY/DAMAGE DEPOSIT
We do not take a damage deposit but we do ask that Guests leave the property clean and tidy. Any breakages or damage, accidental or otherwise, should be reported to us immediately and we reserve the right to make a reasonable charge for any breakages or damage.
Please be aware that if sun tan cream or self tanning cream / body lotion makes contact with bed linen, bathrobes or towels it can cause yellow staining which does not become visible until after washing. This yellow staining is often not removable and in this instance, we reserve the right to charge you the full cost of replacing the stained items.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or online through our website using a credit/debit card or PAYPAL. When making payment by bank transfer the total amount due must be received by us and you must cover all bank charges.
If requested more than 14 days before the arrival date your booking may be amended to a future date subject to availability and the future date being within the same calendar year as the original booking. Payment of any price difference at the time of amendment and any amount paid at the time of the original booking will be held as a deposit against the future booking. If you wish to amend the dates of your confirmed booking, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements. Please note that all booking amendment requests must be made in writing.
CANCELLATION POLICY IN CONNECTION WITH COVID-19
Sadly, we are all being faced with almost impossible situations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Civil Contingencies Authority (CCA) of Guernsey has now announced the travel rules that will be in place from 1 July 2021. The CCA is confident that 1 July 2021 remains a realistic date for new rules to be introduced.
The new travel regime will be much more closely aligned to the UK ‘traffic light’ system, and the testing and self-isolation requirements will largely depend on whether someone has come from what the UK considers to be a green, amber, or red country. But for arrivals coming from within the Common Travel Area it is currently anticipated there will be no testing or self-isolation requirement.

With effect from 6th June 2021 our cancellation policy in connection with Covid-19 for stays commencing on or after 7th June 2021 will be as follows:
If we are forced to close due to a Covid lockdown and you are booked to stay with us, we will offer you a full refund less any administration fee that we have paid if you made payment by debit/credit card or PayPal.
If we are open and you are able to travel from Guernsey to Sark but you have been unable to travel from UK/Europe to Guernsey for any reason (whether due to border restrictions, self-isolation requirements or quarantine requirements upon entry into the Bailiwick of Guernsey, travel disruptions with ferry or airline companies or for any other reason) then our standard cancellation policy will apply. This means that the total booking amount due is non-refundable for cancellations made less than 6 weeks prior to your arrival date unless we can re-let the accommodation to another guest. If we can re-let the accommodation, we will offer you a pro rata refund for each night that the accommodation is re-let during your booked period less a 1 off administration fee of £15.00p.
We advise that you have travel insurance to cover you in the event of cancellation or that you are unable to travel for any other reason.

STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY
- Cancellations made up to 8 weeks prior to your arrival date will receive a full refund less a £15 administration fee.
- Cancellations made up to 6 weeks prior to your arrival date will receive a 50% refund. If we can re-let the accommodation, we will offer you a pro rata refund for each night that the accommodation is re-let during your booked period less a 1 off administration fee of £15.00p.
- For cancellations made less than 6 weeks prior to your arrival date the total payment is non-refundable. If we can re-let the accommodation, we will offer you a pro rata refund for each night that the accommodation is re-let during your booked period less a 1 off administration fee of £15.00p.
We do not make refunds if for any reason you do not occupy the accommodation that you have rented.
If you are unable to travel to Sark on your pre-booked accommodation arrival date due to Sark Shipping cancelling all of its sailings on that day due to bad weather, we will work with you to either shorten or lengthen your stay by however many days you are unable to travel to Sark, or by applying a credit amount against your next booking with us. Any credit amount given to you will be pro rata for each day of your prebooked stay that you were unable to travel to Sark due to Sark Shipping not operating any passenger sailings and must be used within the same calendar year that it is issued. We will not shorten your pre-booked stay or give a credit amount if Sark Shipping operates a passenger sailing on your pre-booked day of arrival and you choose not to travel on that sailing.
We advise that you have travel insurance to cover you in the event of cancellation or that you are not able to travel to Sark for any reason.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfil your requests, unfortunately we cannot guarantee to do this and our failure to do so will not constitute a breach of your contract.
In the highly unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to accept the changed arrangements as notified or cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of monies paid. We will be under no further obligation or liability for losses or expenses arising from the cancellation.
There are no further circumstances for which we will be liable for a refund.

CHANGE OVER DAY
We have no fixed changeover day.
Check-in time is 4pm however we will do our best to make this time flexible when possible and with prior arrangement. If you are arriving on Sark before 4pm we are always happy to accept your luggage even if your accommodation is not available for entry until 4pm.
Check-out time is 10am however we will do our best to make this time flexible when possible and with prior arrangement. If you are not leaving Sark until the afternoon we will look after your luggage so that you can enjoy your last day on Sark.
The cost of transportation to and from the Sark Harbour for 1 item of luggage per person booked is included in your rental cost. We reserve the right to make a charge for additional luggage items that are transported to and from the Harbour. The charge made will be equal to that charged to us by the Luggage Transporter.
Upon check-out the apartment should be left in a clean and tidy manner, if you fail to do so we reserve the right to make an additional cleaning charge of up to £50.00.
BED LINEN & TOWEL CHANGES
Unless otherwise agreed, the apartment is booked on a self-catering basis. For stays of up to and including 7 nights the price includes a towel change after your 3rd night. For stays of 7 nights or more the price includes a towel change after the 3rd night of your stay plus a bed linen and towel change after the 7th night night of your stay. We will confirm the towel and linen change days and times when you arrive.
A charge of £25 will be made for each lost key.
The apartment is to be occupied only by the persons detailed on the booking form. We reserve the right to charge an additional fee if it is found that there are persons occupying the apartment who are not included on the booking form. We also reserve the right to ask the entire party to vacate the premises. In these circumstances, we also reserve the right to retain the full rental price and there will be no refund for unused days.
Please email us on [email protected] if you wish to travel with your dog. Unfortunately, we do not accept other pets. We do welcome fully trained assistance/companion dogs. Please contact us for further details.
Smoking is not permitted inside any of the accommodation, porchways or the Utility Room. Ashtrays are provided for those who wish to smoke in the garden area. If you fail to comply with our non-smoking policy, we will reserve the right to charge you a cleaning charge of £150.
SMOKE & HEAT DETECTORS
We are required by law to have smoke and heat alarms installed in all of our accommodation. These alarms must not be tampered with or disarmed.
In the event of any complaints of noise or disrespect and damage to the property, we reserve the right to cancel your booking in which case you will be required to vacate the premises with immediate effect, and with no compensation for unused days.
Please note that no other countries have reciprocal health agreements with Sark therefore any medical treatment that you might need whilst holidaying on Sark will be chargeable to you. Holiday insurance can provide you with protection from the financial risks associated with going on holiday, including medical costs, travel delays and cancellation, we therefore highly recommend that you arrange holiday insurance appropriate to your needs.
Any complaints or comments regarding your stay should be made to us either in person at the time of your stay or afterwards by email to [email protected]. Please kindly note complaints are more easily resolved while you are still in the property.
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend or cancel any of the information should we find such alterations necessary.
We cannot be held responsible for events beyond our control.
We exclude all loss of valuables and damage to property and any direct, indirect or consequential losses suffered by you, other than death or personal injury resulting from a negligent act or omission by us, our officers or employees.
